Food | Aladin Curry House, Brick Lane E1 | London

Happy Tuesday friends!

Everyone has a bucket list don't they? Living in London all my life bar the three years where I was in Brighton for uni days, it quickly dawned on me that there is so many things that I really haven't done in this beautiful city that I have grown up and learned to love. One of those was eating curry down the famous Brick Lane in East London, so this is what happened when I grabbed a friend and we checked out Aladin in Brick Lane.

Travel | Angel | Longest Escalator on the London Underground??

Happy Tuesday friends!

All my life of growing in London, I have always heard that one of the London Underground stations play host to one of the longest escalators in Europe coming third on the list after Vastraskogen in Stockholm and Kamppi in Helsinki - hey if Wikipedia says so, it must be true right? And what type of Londoner would I be if I didn't pay a visit to it?

Beauty | Birchbox October 2014 | Coppafeel

Another month, another Birchbox. I think I'm on month 3 out of my initial 6 month trial period - you can see August 2014's here, but for some ludicrous reason I missed out on posting September?? It's practically the end of October, and hot dang girl, I'm only just getting round to posting this! Better late than never, and don't forget to coppafeel ;)

Food | Havet Turkish Cypriot Restaurant | London

When walking around Bromley town centre recently with my dad and brother, we soon got hungry and called upon Pocahontas for any recommendations of where to eat in the area. She recommended either Chimichangas or Havet - and since I had eaten at Chimichanga's previously in their Wimbledon branch, Havet it was.

Midlands Photo Diary | Rugby and Birmingham

Happy Sunday friends!

I recently had a little trip up to the Midlands for a few days to stay with my boyfriend's family and had a lovely time as always. It was my third trip up there and his family members that live in the UK are always so welcoming. This is my little photo diary of my time there -

Beauty: Body Shop Haul Oct 2014

The Body Shop. One brand that has adorned the high street in the UK for many years, and I have only just got round to signing up to their loyalty card programme. It only has been relatively recently that I have started buying a lot more of their products, so decided to take the plunge, whip out a fiver and sign up to Love Your Body.

Life | Tower of London Poppies Exhibition | London

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row," ...

When Lieuntenant Colonal Joe McCrae wrote his famous poem, I don't think he had the Tower of London's dry moat in mind. However, if you pass by this London landmark, by 11 November you will see no fewer than 888,246 poppies planted, each to represent a British military fatality during the war.

Food | Miso Noodle Bar | Bromley

There are a number of Miso Noodle Bar restaurants around London, all predominately featured in the south with two in Croydon, one in Beckenham and another in Bromley which serves pretty good nosh at super cheap prices. Now being a massive lover of noodles compared to rice, if the restaurant has "noodle bar" in it's name, surely I can't be disappointed. Can I?

Beauty| Essence Colour & Go nail polish

Autumn is definitely settling in and I'm writing this up on a day where it's been raining non stop for near enough 12 hours. Ah Summer, I shall look back on you with fond memories waiting for you to come back into my life again! In the meanwhile, I'm donning cozy jumpers and fluffy socks as well as the classic onesie and getting into the Autumn spirit with some berry colours on my nails.

Beauty: Maybelline Colordrama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil (140 Minimalist)

In recent weeks, I have fallen in love with all things make up for lips. I mean have you seen my Instagram post of my hand totally covered in all lip swatches? #bblogerproblems #signsofabblogger #makeupaddict Lip gloss, lip stick and lip liners have all been screaming my name whenever I find myself browsing the make up aisle in Boots or Superdrug so it's no surprise when a new product in town at less than a fiver and is a dupe for the cult NARS matte lip pencils, you didn't need to tell me twice to pick it up.

Beauty | L'Oréal Nude Magique Eau de Teint Foundation

Housed in a sleek glass bottle and a beautiful purple design, L'Oréal Nude Magique Eau de Teint Foundation is definitely worthy of the dressing table for the packaging alone. It's unlike other foundations I have used in the post where there is normally a pump application, or a powder compact - this is pure liquid goodness and applied in a similar fashion to most liquid foundations on the market, just with a slight difference.

Life | 10 Reasons To Love Autumn

Ah Autumn, my old chum. I used to absolutely adore this season, with the main reason being my birthday but my favourite season is probably the Summer now - I completely love being in the sunshine with bright blue skies, lighter evenings and summer dresses. Oh it makes me smile when I reminisce back to days now gone by while I swap my lighter evenings for darker ones and settle into Autumn/Fall for another year. But it's not all bad news - here are 10 reasons why I'm personally looking forward to Autumn 2014.

Beauty | Avon Haul

The other day at work something random happened. When talking to someone, I discovered she was an Avon rep and within a couple of days, the latest copy of the catalogue was dropped off and shared between all my colleagues. I've never bought anything from Avon and when I explained this, the rep was lovely enough to highlight great products in the catalogue that was worth buying or mentioning. Being new to Avon, I only picked up a few bits and bobs and this is what I purchased.

I cannot believe the sheer amount of products that Avon supplies! Flicking through the catalogue was overwhelming and had it not been for my rep, would not have a clue where to start. I could not believe at how affordable everything was which is great for anyone who is on a budget and wants some nice make up and what not.

Food | Okonomiyaki | Abeno, London

Thanks to the recent mini series of The Hairy Bikers in Asia where they toured various Far Eastern countries and territories such as Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea and finally Japan where part of the episode was focused on okonomiyaki, no less than a few weeks after airing I found myself in a cute little restaurant in London town sitting in front of a hot plate waiting to be served this culinary dish.

Food: Vapiano

If you follow me on twitter, you'll realise that I tend to rave a lot about a particular Italian restaurant by the name of Vapiano. It's a beautiful restaurant located globally, two of them being in London town. I go to the Southwark/London Bridge location (90B Southwark Street, London, SE1 0FD T: 020 7593 2010) more because its more convenient for me personally and I find that it tends to be less crowded than the other more central location which is just off Oxford Street (19-21 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 8QB T: 020 7268 0080).

Food: On The Rooftop of Selfridges With Q

Hello friends, how are we all?

All my siblings have grown up, graduated from university and entered the world of work, and just as luck would have it, everyone's work patterns collides with another. One Friday afternoon, the impossible happened. From about 4pm onwards, every single member of the family was available including the papa, so what better option there is to do than mingle and dine on the rooftop of Selfridges over a spot of afternoon tea?

Life | Zoo Lates | London Zoo

Not too long ago I went to the Zoo. London Zoo. I haven't been here in such a crazy ridiculous time so even the journey to the zoo catching the 274 from Baker Street/Marylebone part of town sent a wave of nostalgia over me. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been here but it's the zoo! There's something about seeing live animals albeit in captivity (insert sad face here) that just captures people both young and old. I never really considered going back as I prefer humans to animals in general, but I have never been to Zoo Lates so when a colleague mention you can get in for a discounted price of £17.50 (normally around the £24 mark) with a Time Out Offer, I guess 2014 was the year to lose my Zoo Lates at London Zoo V-card...

Beauty | Mission to fall in love with Lush

On my way to, and my way from work, for the most of the time, I pass through London Victoria train station specifically the past that passes by Lush. If you have ever walked past a Lush store, you'll know that signature smell that wafts out of the door whenever you briefly pass it, their colourful window displays giving a peek of their huge rounds of soap moulds and fresh face masks, and how can I not include that amazing signature white handwriting on black chalkboard esque displays?? Yet, despite all of this, I have resisted temptation to walk inside. Until now.

Beauty: Meeting Lily Pebbles and Vivianna Does Makeup

So I've only been blogging since about May 2014 starting with a whole bunch of Barcelona posts, and it's not hard to learn that once you enter the blogosphere you effectively become a small fry in a very big techie ocean. With a crazy amount of blogs already out there and established, I did wonder whether it was worth contributing my thoughts and two cents. Ignoring all doubts I had for myself, I signed up for bloglovin', watch countless YouTube videos and vloggers as well as as many blogs as I can really. And I learnt pretty quickly that there are two gigantic, absolutely mahoosive established UK bloggers already in full force with both their blogs and vlogs, and if you're anything like me scouring all kind of social media, you will most definitely have heard of Lily of Lily Pebbles and Anna of Vivianna Does
Makeup.

Travel | Rubbing the boar's nose | Florence, Italy

Today's Throwback Thursday throws me back to Florence or Firenze as the Italians call it - an incredibly beautiful city I hope to revisit. If you are visiting for the first time, be sure to stop by Mercato Nuovo, a covered market in the historic centre of Florence, and while you are at it, why not say hello to its biggest attraction - the Fontana del Porcelliono (Piglet Fountain) and visit Il Porcellino, (a nickname given by the local Florentines) who sits proudly on the south side and be sure to rub his nose, and maybe make a wish hoping the coin will fall straight through the grout below.

Had I not stayed at a friend's place when I visited Malta, I don't think I would have experienced the art of making figolli - the Maltese traditional Easter treat they make stuffed with marzipan in different shapes.  Barry M is a brilliant drug store/high street beauty brand that can be both be found in Boots and Superdrug, and is probably one of the most colourful stalls about thanks to its nail polishes coming in every colour under the sun. I'm pretty sure my first nail polish was a Barry M item nail paint, and my latest nail purchase is none other than from its latest release, the Matte Nail Paint Collection line.

Food: The Diner, Spitafields

After having our nails tended to at MW Nails in Spitafields and walking around the market, my friends and I were feeling pretty hungry and decided to pop into The Diner for a bite to eat. If you've never been to The Diner, there are a few of them located around London including Camden, Covent Garden Islington, Soho, Shoreditch, Gloucester Road as well as the Spitafields branch we headed to. It is an American style bar/diner serving everything from pancakes to burgers so of course we headed inside to fill our rumbly tummies.

Travel | Azure Window, Gozo | Malta

This week's Throwback Thursday takes us to the Azure Window in Malta, an attraction spot both for tourists and Maltese alike because of its natural beauty. It is a natural arch that has been formed due to the limestone structure being weathered away leaving behind an arch-like structure, and because of the semi-arid conditions that Malta has, there is nearly always a blue sea and sky leading to it being called "The Azure Window". It has also reached fame more recently when it was featured in films such as The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), The Odyssey (1997) and Clash of the Titans (1981).

There is a relatively new nail salon that has opened up in Spitafields near Liverpool Street station in London that is like none other. For starters, it's aeroplane themed. For seconds, it was a fantastic first time spa pedicure experience I have had. So when my friend messaged me about it, and the weather was beckoning me to wear open toed sandals, 50% deposit and a week later, we found ourselves at MW Nails ready for our in flight treatment.

The World Cup BenePub

As if my blog isn't pink enough, here's a post that will add oomphs of pinkness into the blogosphere. Today, I'm talking about none other than Benefit Cosmetics' very own pub they've opened up in London town so naturally I had to pay a visit to the pub... Just expect a lot of pink in this post!
Benefit Cosmetics is a well known make up brand and they've done what no other make up brand has done (or at least that's what I think) - they've taken over the second floor of a British pub, put their own spin on it and added their make up to the mix. The end result? Gabbi's Head was born, open between 13th June and 13th July and is simply a perfect girly place for all female football fans to watch the World Cup 2014.

Food | Chinese Bakery Goodies

When it comes to food, the Chinese simply excel. But when it comes to desserts, it's always a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong - there are some Chinese desserts I could happily nom on like mango pudding and sago pudding, but more times than not, after eating a hearty meal out in a Chinese restaurant, I usually am faced with a plate of oranges. While I appreciate that it is healthy, count towards one of my five a day and cleanses the palate, there are some times where I just rather have a sundae than an orange. So to make up for it, every time I find myself in Chinatown, I cannot help myself but visit a Chinese bakery and stock up on some sweet desserts instead. Here are my pick of the bunch.

Travel | Mosta Dome | Malta

Mosta Dome is a Roman Catholic Church and as the name suggests, is located within the Mosta province of Malta. Why am I blogging about a church you ask? Well this is no normal church. This church houses the 3rd/4th (this is varied all over the web so not entirely sure myself but it definitely ranks within the top 5!) largest unsupported dome in Europe, and coming confidently within the top 10 at number 9 when it comes to world rankings. So what other place to focus on during this week's Throwback Thursday?

Food: Wong Kei aka London's rudest restaurant

 "Upstairs!"
"Downstairs!"
If the above doesn't mean anything to you, then you have not yet had the Wong Kei experience in London's Chinatown. I consider it Chinatown's most infamous restaurant and I have realised the only time I actually eat at the restaurant is with my non-Chinese friends. It's widely known that you can judge on how good a Chinese restaurant is based on how many Chinese people eat at the restaurant and a quick glance through the window will give you a good indication. Maybe it is the super cheap prices or the infamous service from the waiting staff but it is one restaurant I find myself eating at time after time.

Big Ben and Houses of Parliament: I see this London landmark pretty every day of work and it's so surreal to think that I work within minutes of it. My place of work is changing in a couple of months time so thought I'd snap this picture while I still can

Joe's Southern Kitchen: Went here with friends on Saturday evening... anyone care for a "Suarez"??

Ballerina Statue: Thought this was super pretty. It's in Covent Garden by Broad Street and the Royal Opera House is relatively close by - rather apt I thought. Can you spot my two crazy friends by the phone boxes??

Benefit Chair: Wandered to the Benefit pub after eating dinner at Joe's and fell in love with this chair. If I ever make it big in the blogging world, I am totally buying this chair.
