5 reasons why I'm looking forward to November 2014

Happy Friday friends!

I cannot believe that we are now well into the 11th month of 2014 - the year has simply flown by like crazy, or is that just me? Here are some things I am looking forward to in the  penultimate month this year.

1. Bonfire Night/Guy Fawkes Night
"remember remember the 5th of November, Gunpowder, treason and plot" - hello 5th of November when we all turn to the skies and look for fireworks. I love watching fireworks, they are so pretty and every time I see them, I'm immediately thrown back to Primrose Hill in London where my family and I would make the annual trip to watch them

2. Poppy Day/Remembrance Day
Another event that gives cause for remembrance is of course in nod to the fallen who served in the Great Wars. This year marks the centenary of the beginning of the First World War and a special display at the Tower of London is commemorating this, which brings me on to...

3. Tower of London Poppy Display
I've already gone round to have a look at the evolving display of this - check out my post here - but it will not be fully completed until the last ceramic poppy is planted in time for the 2 minute silence at 11am on 11th November. I didn't manage to sign up for this during the installation but I have been fortunate enough to be selected for one of the deinstallation events.

4. Children in Need
This month sees the annual return of Pudsey bear joined by Blush and a special edition designed by Fearne who will join forces with many in media to raise money for Children in Need. It's a fantastic cause helping children from those who are homeless to in need of care and is normally a massive television marathon that goes on for several hours. Some of the major highlights that I'm hoping will repeat itself this year including the cast of Eastenders doing a musical number, the BBC newsreader also doing a musical number (I'm looking at you Fiona Bruce and Natasha Kaplinsky) as well as the cast of leading West End musicals doing snippets of their performance. All in all something to definitely tune into, and we're doing our part by dressing up at work to raise money. Any ideas of what to go as? I'm thinking Mario, what do you think?

5. My 26th Birthday
November 14th will see me turn one year older into 26 but it probably doesn't mean I'll also be one year wiser knowing me! I love looking forward to my birthday each year, there's always something special about them.  Birthday month normally signifies a bunch of treats including Body Shop's Love Your Body loyalty scheme giving £5 off in your birthday month which I signed up to last month and did a mini haul while I was at it over here. here. Now I'm debating whether to pick up the camomile cleansing butter or the camomile cleansing oil. Good choices or non?

Bonus 6. One month countdown
Yes, now that Halloween has passed, we can officially countdown the days to Christmas! Well not officially officially - Advent calendars don't start until 1st December, but shops will definitely get rid of all things orange and Halloween related and make way for crazy Christmas displays! This also means I'm also counting the days until I return to the motherland with my boo as I'm spending Christmas and New Year in Hong Kong. While I'm there I'm also catching up with some dear friends of mine that I went to school with, and one of them is even getting married, so celebrations all round! Super excited, can you tell??

So that rounds up my reasons why I'm looking forward to what's in store over the next few days.

How about you?
Anything you're looking forward to?
