Travel | Angel | Longest Escalator on the London Underground??

Happy Tuesday friends!

All my life of growing in London, I have always heard that one of the London Underground stations play host to one of the longest escalators in Europe coming third on the list after Vastraskogen in Stockholm and Kamppi in Helsinki - hey if Wikipedia says so, it must be true right? And what type of Londoner would I be if I didn't pay a visit to it?

Coming up from the Northern line on Angel, there are two escalators you encounter but it is the one that leads to the ticket hall and the exit that holds the crown as longest escalator on the Underground. Measuring at 60m long and rising up at 27.5m, it was surprisingly fast to travel up and in all honesty, I was slightly disappointed by how fast the journey was.

Ah well - at least I can say I've been on it!

Have you been on the escalator before?
Do you know any London Underground trivia?
Have you taken an escalator selfie?

Enjoy,
