2015 | A Summary

I think I'm just going to have enough time to squeeze this post in before 2016 hits London, UK so let me speed type this up and summarise what has 2015 meant for my blog and I...

What Happened in ... December 2015

As a blogger, we've all heard that it's never a good idea to get worked up with the statistics and numbers that invariably come with running a blog but if you're anything like me, you'll find it super interesting knowing what countries your viewers are from, your traffic sources and what your most popular posts are. Recently, one of the most popular posts on my blog is my "What Happened in ... November" post and I'm guessing since you guys all seemed to enjoy reading it, here's a "What Happened in ... December" post for you lovelies!

An Afternoon in Brixton | Photo Diary

I have lived in London for practically my entire life and I am constantly reminded just how much of this incredible city I have never explored. Having lived and grown up north of the river for the greater part of my life, I rarely found myself in south (SARRFFF!!) London other than the rare occasion. I heard plenty things about south London namely Brixton and here's what I got up in the area.

The Bloggers Hangout Christmas Food Fest

Being relatively new to the blogging world, I'm constantly on the hunt for bloggers event and how to connect with other like minded bloggers with twitter being one of my favourite sources. In turn, I have discovered The Bloggers Hangout which I love showcasing products for bloggers, hosting giveaways and twitter chats as well as planning events. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Christmas Food Festival event in Shoreditch at the beginning of December, and here's a preview of what I got up to.

Banh Mi Bay Vietnamese Restaurant | London

If you are a regular reader of my blog, it will come to no surprise that I am a huge foodie, and love trying new food. I sometimes find myself in phases wanting to eat a certain item or a certain cuisine, and the latest phase was Vietnamese. Now, between you and me, I have not found a decent Vietnamese in central London in or around Chinatown but a friend of mine managed to trek one down a stone's throw away from Chancery Lane - home to the Holborn location of Bahn Mi Bay's restaurant.

Photo Diary: One Day in Venice, taly

I was browsing my personal Facebook recently after not having logged on there for what feels like forever, and a wave of nostalgia fell on me when I rediscovered the album of my holiday to Italy in May 2011. I spent the summer before working and met some incredible friends, one of which was a native Italian and offered for myself and one other to spend a week in Italy living at hers. At the time, I had never been to Italy (and haven't been back since! *slaps wrist!*) but if there was a case of a Throwback Thursday, I think this is it.

Travel | Hidden Waterfall Cafe | Bologna, Italy

If you are in Bologna, be sure not to miss this little gem of today's Throwback Thursday. Apparently not a lot of people know it, and less Bolognaise know it than the tourists. Bologna has a hidden world of canals beneath its pavements and roads, and this is one of the few places where you can reveal its hidden water world. The cafe itself is beautifully decorated with a grand piano inside with one night a week holding an "Open Piano" night inviting people to play on this instrument and entertain everybody. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of the inside because taking photos even without the flash is forbidden inside.

Travel | Top 6 Places in New York worth visiting

By now you're probably sick of all the #NYC2015 posts that have appeared on my blog as of late, but I couldn't end the "series" without summarising a list of my all time favourite experiences of the Big Apple. This is my list of places I would visit again in a heart beat if I  had the opportunity to step foot back in Manhattan again. I think this list is also quite a good list for a first timer to Manhattan as they are easily accessible and on most people's bucket list for the city.

Travel | Central Park | New York City

Central Park is huge. I mean ginormous. Crazy big. According to Google, Hyde Park (one of the large parks in London, though not the biggest. That award apparently goes to Richmond Park) is 1.42km2 and Central Park is 3.41km2. This makes it nearly two and a half times bigger than Hyde Park! So with that size, while you're getting lost in the park, you'll stumble upon some beautiful statues, incredible lakes, and experience a sense of tranquility you won't find anywhere else in New York. What holiday to New York for the first time would be complete without a visit to Central Park? After visiting Top of the Rock, American Natural History Museum (fell in love with that place 100x over *inserts heart eyed emoji*), we strolled over to Central Park and discovered why all New Yorkers love this oasis of green.

What Happened In ... November 2015

It's crazy that the end of November is fast approaching and December 1st is going to be here before I know it! Pretty sure it's going to creep up on me and everybody else, so before it actually does appear, I thought I'd do a round up of what happened in November 2015 for me~

Travel | Big Buddha | Lantau Island | Hong Kong

One of the most famous attractions in Hong Kong, popular with both locals and tourists alike, is the Big Buddha of Lantau Island. Buddhism is one of the major religions in Hong Kong and China so it comes to no surprise the popularity of this attraction.

Food | Chang's Noodles Restaurant | Hand Pulled Noodles

I watch a lot of YouTube videos and I stumbled across Mike Chen's spin off channel "Strictly Dumpling" and he claims this is THE best noodles to try. Only problem was that Mikey is based in New York and I'm well.. based in London. A quick Google search promoted me towards Bloomsbury way and a stone's throw away from the British Museum is Chang's Noodles. The power of YouTube combined with me being a massive foodie meant I had to try it - for blogging purposes obviously..

Life | British Museum of Food, London | Exhibition

On a wet but not so cold Saturday, I really wanted to visit Tower of London for my birthday but because of the weather, I didn't particular want to spend part of the day outside, and I knew Tower of London has a courtyard or some open space where the Yeoman Guards and ravens are so decided to go with Plan B. Only I didn't have a Plan B. I took to Google, and searched "places to go in London on a rainy day". One click led to another and before I knew it, I was reading an article about a temporary food exhibition near Borough Market called British Museum of Food.

Life | OOTD | Birthday Outfit

Wow, I haven't done an Outfit of the Day (OOTD) post in a while, and forgot to take a full length picture, but hey, ho, here we go!

Today's post is all about the outfit I wore when I was out in London for the day celebrating my birthday. It was a wet London day (sad times) so priority was all about comfort and staying dry, rather than looking stylish and fashionable! We ended up visiting Borough Market, British Museum of Food (London) and Clink Prison Museum so it was all about being casual :)

VIDEO | Birthday Vlog 2015

I had an amazing day yesterday - Saturday 14th November 2015 - as it was the day I turned 27! I decided to vlog about it so if you want to check out what I got up to, click the thumbnail below~

Life | Fireworks Night 2015 | #batterseaparkfireworks

It's the eleventh month of the year and November to me is synonymous with fireworks. November being my birthday month (I'm turning 27 in less than a week - eek!), I have always found fireworks that much more special. They're relatively rare to find in London with the main displays around Guy Fawkes' Night and New Year's Eve so when I borrowed the other half's American Express card, before you could say bonfire, the two of us were heading to watch the #batterseaparkfireworks

Travel | Brooklyn Bridge | New York City

Opened in 1883, what was the longest suspension bridge of its time, was opened over the New York East River to serve as a crossing between Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs of the State of New York. Citizens then knew it as the New York and Brooklyn Bridge, until the name got changed to the East River Bridge. That is until 1915 when it was renamed to the more familiar Brooklyn Bridge we all know it as today. It's an iconic structure of New York and one on the to-do list so my family and I took the time to stroll along it taking in the sights and sounds of New York from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Travel | Coney Island | New York City

I cannot believe we're nearing the end of October. Can you believe clocks went back last night in the UK? Are you set for darker mornings and evenings? Definitely the season cosy weather and all things hot cocoa, oversized knits and wrapping up. Before I say goodbye to October and all things summer, I'm going to take a walk down memory lane to Coney Island in Brooklyn as I desperately cling to the last few memories of my #NYC2015 holiday, so why not join me?

Travel | Top of the Rock | New York City

New York City is famous for its skyscrapers and one of the "must do" things while you're out there is to get yourself to the top of one of them to admire the view from above whether its with a cocktail in one hand or simply acting the tourist. I did the latter, and decided to see what New York has to offer from the Rockefeller Building, or as it's more known - Top of the Rock.

Food | Katz's Delicatessen | Downtown Manhattan, NYC

Katz's Delicatessen, Manhattan, New York

Hello world, how are we all doing this grey Sunday morning? This holiday was my first trip to a country west of England (nope, not even stepped foot in Wales or Ireland yet so can't even say west of UK - I'm a terrible classic Brit), first holiday to America and first time in New York. So of course I did a ridiculous amount of research of what to see, do and mainly eat. One place that kept coming up time and time again was Katz's Delicatessen, and to see what the hype was all about, I insisted that this was the first meal I would have in the Big Apple.

Travel | New York City | First Impressions (with gifs)

Hello world, how are y'all?

I've been in New York less than 24 hours, typing this up at 5am NY time (East time? Pacific time? Basically 9am Sunday morning London time) clearly suffering a bit from jet lag and NewYork has completely overwhelmed me. I'm not sure what to expect from the Big Apple but it's definitely something else. Here are my first impressions of New York - complete with gifs.

Travel | New York City | Bucket List

Hello world, I have some very exciting news to share with you! If you don't already follow me on twitter (@londongirldiana), I am currently in the Big Apple, none other than New York City! It's a bit of a last minute trip with the family, having only booked it around a month ago, but I can now finally cross off another country on my list, another city and a stamp in my new passport. Life is so good right now. Here is my bucket list for #NYC2015 ~

Life | Audrey Hepburn Portraits of an Icon Exhibition

There are a few people in this world that oozes grace, beauty and elegance. It's easy to check one off. Less so to be able to check two off. And a only fraction will be able to do a hat trick and check off all three. In my views, Audrey Hepburn falls into this elusive circle and from a young age, been amazed by this amazing woman. Lucky for me, the National Portrait Gallery in London has an exhibition of her portraits so I obviously went to indulge in this.

Food | I Love Nata | Covent Garden

I Love Nata Covent Garden London

I love food. Trying it. Eating it. Exploring it. And London has so many different cafes, pop ups and restaurants I have not yet discovered. So thanks to the wonderful world that is this blogging community, Carrie from WishWishWish made me aware of a little cafe in Covent Garden that only sells one thing. Portugese egg tarts. And after visiting Macau which once upon a time was a Portuguese colony and sampled Lord Stow's egg tarts, this obviously meant I had to wander down to try them myself.

Food | The Magnum Experience | Covent Garden, London

London is full of the weird and the wonderful. I forgot constantly just how big this beautiful city is and despite it being my home town and grown up in it for nearly 30 years, I still find myself aimlessly wandering, getting lost and becoming a tourist in my own city. West End is one of the best places to wander carefree because sooner or later, you'll find yourself in Covent Garden stumbling upon the Magnum Experience pop up shop. Well, you probably deserve a treat after all that walking.

Life | London By Night | Trafalgar Square

Hello world and Happy Friday~

Following on from the London By Night post earlier this week which focus on Piccadilly Circus, London, today's post features something similar but with the focus on another iconic London landmark - Trafalgar Square.

Life | London By Night | Piccadilly Circus

Hello world and Happy Tuesday to you all~

I forget how lucky I am to live in London town and often taking it far too often for granted. I spent most of my younger years living a stone's throw away from Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus and the other landmarks that make London "London". It's an incredible city to live in and I hardly wander around it at night. But when the opportunity rose one evening, I couldn't help but take some photos and share them with you.

Beauty | Make Up Revolution London | Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer - Keep Lying To You

Make Up Revolution London | Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer - Keep Lying For You |

Morning world, happy Friday to you all! I don't know about you but I'm in shock that August is nearly over and we're moving into September already. As we come closer to the autumn months, there's going to be a bit of a make u look shake up, starting with lips. So I headed to the aisles of Superdrug and picked this purple item. With a name like "Keep Lying to You" and a £3 price tag, in the basket it went.

Life | Shakespeare Globe | Macbeth in Cantonese

Morning world and happy Tuesday to you all~

Before I start this post, I think I should probably share something with you. And that's my distinct lack of love for Shakespeare. I'm certainly not his biggest fan so what on earth possessed me to buy tickets to stand for 3 hours to watch one of his plays? Well, for the one and only reason that it was being played in Cantonese.

Beauty | Vitamin E Skin Care | All Over Body Cream with Argan Oil

Vitamin E Skin Care All Over Body Cream with Argan Oil |

Hello world and Happy Friday to you all! Today I wanted to talk about a super budget moisturiser I picked up on a whim as the OH was low on moisturiser at his place and of course I had to have an input on anything beauty related he picks up! Mr LGD normally has the Dove Essential Nourishment Body Lotion which is great but as always, I felt like a bit of a change was due. I found myself in Superdrug eyeing up what they had to offer and pretty sure it was the blue lid that caught my eye. That and the inclusion of Argan Oil. I. Was. Sold.

Travel | Venetian Casino and Hotel | Macau

Morning world, how are you today? Today's #throwbackTuesday post goes back to another experience in Macau where I visited the Venetian Hotel and Casino. I've been in a casino before (Hippodrome in London, but that was mainly for the cocktails more than anything else) but the Venetian is one of the most famous, if not THE most famous hotels and casino of Macau. So of course it was worth a visit and see what it was all about.

Beauty | Venturing Into the Mad World of Contour | Seventeen Contour Kit - Fair

Hello world and Happy Friday to you all! Got any plans for the weekend? I'm so late to this game that contouring has moved on and given way to strobing but hey ho, there we go. I think we all have Kim K to thank for all girls to want a bit of contour including myself, but to be frank - I was a little scared of it.. Will I look too bronze? Please say I've blended it all and buffed it out.. So to start off into this mad world of contouring, I picked up this little kit while perusing the aisles of Boots.

LUSH Beautiful Shower Gel |

Hello world, happy Tuesday to you all!  Over the last few weeks I have been spending more and more time at the OH's place. I mean, his place is always neat and tidy, my laundry gets done food gets cooked for me... I'm struggling to find reasons NOT to permanently stay there!

But after a while, things become drab and I wanted to spruce it up a little.. starting with the shower gel. So of course I had to take a little detour to LUSH...

Roxie Steak Clapham Junction |

Hello world, how are we all doing? Just the other weekend, the boy and I stumbled across this restaurant nestled down Clapham Junction way on a Sunday afternoon. We took one look and decided to forgo Nando's for this, and what a great choice it was. Poulet for me, ribs for him and lemon water on the house? Count me in.

Beauty | Daily Make Up | Summer 2015 Look

Hello world, happy Tuesday!

I have realised from browsing through my previous posts that I've not done a daily make up post and thought it was about high time that I did. This make up look is my daily look when I put on what I call "my face" and takes me around 10-15 minutes to do. It's pretty simple and natural and I hope you like it.

Life | August 2015 | Goals

Hello world and happy Saturday to you all! Can you believe it's 1st of August 2015 already? That's mental. We're way over halfway through 2015 and I remember reading online that we're 20 Friday's away from Christmas. Say WHAT?! Trying to ignore that little nugget of information, I decided to procrastinate through bloglovin' only to stumble across A Thrifty Mrs' post about her August 2015 goals (link HERE) which inspired me to create my own list so without further ado and in no particular order.. here's a snippet into my personal life goals and ambitions for August 2015 ~

Hello world, how are we all doing? Apologies for the ridiculous lateness of this post, but it was only when I was browsing through the drafts post that I didn't even realised I hadn't posted this yet *slaps myself on the wrist several times* Well, better late than never right? So world, this is all about the time I went to Duck and Waffle in London and experience a fantastic meal.

Hello world, how are we all doing? Did you know that there is a secret tunnel in mighty ol' London you can walk through? One that'll let you walk directly underneath the River Thames? And that it links from Greenwich to Tower Hamlets? Well neither did I - until my family and I stumbled upon it after visiting Cutty Sark..

Life | 7 Tips For Summer Make Up

Hey world, how are we all doing? I hope you're enjoying #Summer2015 so far. London has been hit with a beautiful Spanish heatwave with temperatures reaching 30 degrees C plus which I am absolutely loving. Bright blue skies, warm summer nights and ice cold drinks? Bring it on! Probably the only two things I dislike are insect bites and make up sliding off my face so I've decide the blog about the latter and share some tips along with some gifs so go enjoy :)

Travel | Dali Theatre and Museum | Figueres

Not too long ago, I was on Spanish shores and while the weather in the UK has perked up with blue skies and all, I can't help but reminisce over my #Spain2015 holiday where I traveled South to Spain and took in the sights and sounds of Costa Brava. One of the highlights was visitng Figueres - an old town in northern Spain and more famously known as the hometown of Salvador Dali - the surrealist artist who made his mark and left his impression on the world where we took the time to visit the Dali Theatre and Museum.

Life | 7 Tips on How To Balance a Full Time Job With Blogging

Hey world, how are we all doing? It looks like the last time I did a post similar to this was super well received so here's another edition of my top tips. Today I wanted to share some of my tips on how to balance a full time job with blogging. It's something that I do currently and I will admit, it is not an easy thing to do and yes at times it can be quite stressful. However, with a bit of organization and some tips of mine, you can strike the right balance and wonders will come your way.

Beauty | 5 Years of Topshop Beauty | Rio Rio Lipstick

I blame TopShop. If they wasn't celebrating their five years anniversary in beauty and if they hadn't released limited editions of past favourites, then I wouldn't have the temptation of walking into their store and picking up a new lipstick when what I really needed was a new blazer. Being a blogger whether its a #fbloggers, #bbloggers or #lbloggers (fashion bloggers/beauty bloggers/lifestyle bloggers), there is an invisible force that requires you to keep up with the latest releases. So is it really all that surprising when I walked out with Rio Rio? Probably not.

Beauty | MAC Lipsticks | Peach Blossom

Hey world, how's it all going? I don't know about you, but every time I pass through duty free, I simply have to pick up something that does not include a bottle of water and some sweet treats. I always try to get to the airport with plenty of time to spare so I can browse the beauty aisles whether it's picking up my latest perfume or make up. This time, my eyes landed on MAC cosmetics stand and I may have picked up a lipstick while I was at it...

Not only is she super lovely (I've met her in person! #fangirl), but she is on ball with trends, and if she's not, she's a trendsetter - currently setting the trend for L'Oreal Colour Riche Matte Lipstick in Shade 228 VIP aka the lipstick that was out of stock everywhere and finally got my mitts on it!

Figueres Spain Salvador Dali Museum

Figueres is a small town in Northern Spain, and is mainly famous for being the home town of Salvador Dali, the eccentric and surrealist artist. As a result, it also features the Dali Museum, one of the landmarks of the town. We went specifically for the museum as the town was only half an hour away from Girona but walking through Figueres was beautiful especially with the gorgeous Spanish sun shining above,
