Beauty | Inside my Travel Make Up Bag

Made from waterproof PU, this cosmetics bag is lined in black with a signature Waldo Pancake label with the quote ‘Oh good, another bag.'

We all love a getaway from time to time, whether it's just crashing over at the other half's for the weekend, a sleepover at a best mate's place or a weekend away at the in-laws. But wherever I go and I know that my face needs to look it's best, here are the items I have to have in my travel make up bag~
THE EYELINER:
Ever since I laid hand on Rimmel's Exaggerate Automatic Waterproof Eye Definer in Black, I always find myself having a backup in my drawer. I love how it doesn't need sharpening and therefore don't need to find a sharpener (there's never one around when you need it, or is that just me?) - although there is an inbuilt one if you ever need it. It's retractable which is perfect, and there's even a little smudger at the end if you wanna smoke things out a lil. I love it.

THE FOUNDATION:
I've raved on about L'Oreal's Eau De Teint Foundation and for good reason too. I love the lightweight formula of this, and it just does what I need without it feeling too cakey on my face. I picked up the Maxfactor's foundation recently purely because Victoria Beckham used it on her catwalk (I can't be the only one surely?), and it just felt heavy and thick on my face. Went back to my beloved L'Oreal pretty quickly!

THE BLUSHER:
Another winner of L'Oreal was one I actually picked up on a whim but gradually fallen in love with. L'Oreal Paris True Match Blush in 120 Sandalwood Rose is my go to blush compact containing it's dinky mirror and brush all within a little circle of happiness. Saying this, I've managed to misplace the blooming thing so Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick in Rose has taken its place.

THE POWDER FOUNDATION:
I have since learnt to dab a little powder over my face to set it and make sure my face doesn't melt, and my current product of choice is the Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifying Powder. Give it a swirl, tap the excess off and away we go on my face! My bugbear with this is that I wish it had a click open lid a la Bourjois's Healthy Mix powder foundation rather than the current screw type lid but hey ho, there we go. Speaking of the Bourjois Healthy Mix, I am trying this out thanks to so many rave reviews of it online so will see how it goes

THE CONCEALER:
Normally after benefit's boing in shade 02 in the winter, or shade 03 when my skin gets a little tanned.. *roll on summer*.. Pretty sure there's another one I use but can't think of it on top of my head...

THE EYEBROWS:
Depending whichever is closest to hand when I need to throw one into my travel bag, it's a flip between Benefit's Brow-zings or Rimmel's Professional Eyebrow Pencil. I remember when the benefit's one used to be so much more compact and sorely wish it went back to that, but I find the brushes included are just *too* small for me so I prefer to use a longer angled brush instead. Love the brush on the end of the Rimmel's pencil which can be a little harsh but gotten used to it, it doesn't bother me anymore

THE EYE LIDS:
I very rarely do my eyelids on the basis I still can't work out how to use eyeshadow to save my life, but Urban Decay's Naked 1 palette and it's accompanying brush and primer as well as the compact Naked Basics palette sometimes gets thrown in the bag mainly depending on what my mood is like.

THE BRUSHES:
Every blogger and her laptop has probably got a kit of Real Techniques make up brushes stashed away somewhere and I'm really no different. They are cheap and cheerful, wash well and apply well too. Can't hate on it!

THE LIPS:
I always find myself slathering on  some sort of lipbalm (currently Lucas Paw Paw Australian ointment, that red tube or Nuxe de Revel in stick form), followed by some lip colour. Currently loving Chanel's Legende which the other half picked up for me in duty free (^_^) but also loving YSL's Rouge Volupte in 13

Woah - I thought this would be a short and sweet post! And turns out most of the above are actually in my normal make up bag!

What about you?
What make up products can you not live without?
Is your travel make up bag any different to your normal make up bag?
