Treating myself pho sure..

London has got incredibly colder over the last few weeks and winter feels like it's well on its way. I even woke up to Jack Frost's handiwork on the car and grass! It's days like these where I want to wrap up in my duvet with my heating on safe in the comfort of my own home, but unfortunately work calls and life goes on. My office for the day was in central London recently, not too far from Shaftesbury Avenue and to cure me of some winter blues, I stepped into Pho & Bun for some warming pho.

Beijing, China: Photo Diary for the first 24 hours

It took nearly a 10hr flight to get to one of the most famous cities in the world. As soon as I got off the plane, 30 degree C heat whacked me straight in the face reminding me I wasn't in London anymore. A place where I have an incredible lack of knowledge for the language, but I know how to eat their dishes. The country is home to over ONE BILLION people, and I'm heading to it's capital, the same place that held the 2008 Summer Olympics, and will host the 2022 Winter Olympics. I

Yup.. I'm in Beijing, China!

I'm Off To ... Dublin! (and my little bucket list)

I'm off to ... Dublin!

I'm finally going to check off Dublin from my never ending bucket and travel list!

It's been on my list for what feels like aeons and I'm off there on a day trip on Saturday. Yes you read that right.. a day trip. Luckily, I'm going with an amazing friend of mine who's been there a couple of times and know where to go and what to do, so I'm packing my camera and never losing sight of her while on the Emerald Isle.

Milani Baked Blush 05 Luminoso

Milani make up has finally arrived in the UK! Or maybe it's been here for a while and I'm late to the party as always? Either way, I picked up this beauty of a blush last year when I went to New York. I personally hadn't heard a great deal about the make up range aside from the blushers so obviously this went straight into the basket when I spotted in a drugstore state side.

Sephora Mini Haul - Copenhagen edition

I feel robbed slightly living in the UK by not having a Sephora. I get that Boots and Superdrug as well as HOF and Debenhams combined pretty much caters to all the latest beauty releases the world has to offer, but it would be nice to have a store even if they do offer international shipping to us. So much so that if I am travelling overseas and I know there's a Sephora around, I will try my utmost to track it down which inevitably leads to a purchase or two. Here's my latest Sephora haul...

Jo Malone White Jasmine and Mint Cologne

If you walk into a shop and the sales staff know you by name, then I think that's a key sign that you go in there way too often. But since it's the Jo Malone store in Covent Garden, I have no problems with that. Out of all the Jo Malone stores, their Covent Garden standalone store is my favourite from their helpful staff and their lovely invites through my letterbox inviting me for one of their hand and arm massages. Well, it would be rude not to...

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade Chocolate and Brush

Every three weeks or so, for the last five years plus, I will pop down to the salon to get my eyebrows threaded. And every once in a while, I will ask for them to be tinted, knowing full well it never works but just in case in the off chance it will. So I've had to resort to using an eyebrow pencil to do the rest to make myself slightly presentable. But when I found myself in Macy's, NY last year, of course I had to pick up the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade to see a) what the hype was all about, and b) really to see what the hype was all about.

Travel Guide: 40 hours in Copenhagen, Denmark (Part 1)

When I booked a weekend away to visit Copenhagen for the first time, I didn't quite realise how short a weekend actually is. I mean, I calculated that I had all of about 40 hours to cram everything I wanted to see in the Danish capital purely because I didn't want to use any of my precious annual leave days! Worked owed me a few hours from here and there which meant I booked myself onto a 4pm flight out of London Gatwick but it also meant that I had to be back at work for Monday morning so I was on a 10am flight out of Copenhagen Sunday morning. Here's what I got up to...

Having afternoon tea with Matthew Williamson AW15 at Balthazar Restaurant

Balthazar Restaurant Matthew Williamson afternoon tea

There are a few things I appreciate in life, and one of them is afternoon tea. It combines my love of food and tea, and when surrounded by good company, it's a lovely pastime and way to while away an afternoon. My latest afternoon tea came courtesy of a like minded friend who decided to celebrate her birthday inside Balthazar Restaurant, Covent Garden. Balthazar doesn't typically do an afternoon tea by first appearances but this is the Matthew Williamson AW15 edition which made it a little exciting for about seven girls.

View From The Top: Christiansborg Palace, Denmark

Copenhagen Christiansborg Palace Tower View
I love to travel exploring new places, eating new cuisines and understanding new cultures. But the thing that I love most when I travel is when I can do it on a budget.. or for free! One of the attractions I enjoyed most during my recent trip to Copenhagen from the view from the top of Christiansborg Palace. Yes, you go to the tower of a PALACE. And for free! How many places around the world can boast that?

I'm Off To ... Copenhagen, Denmark!

By the time you're reading this, I'll either be doing one of three things: 1) In duty free spending frivolously or frugally depending on how I feel, 2) waiting for my plane or 3) actually be mid-air headed towards Copenhagen, Denmark!

Kew Gardens Orchid Exhibition

Kew Gardens have just finished their latest exhibition about Orchids for 2016, and I had the great pleasure of visiting it while it was on. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to compose this post in time before it actually ended, but the flowers and subsequent photos are far too beautiful to not share with you all. There were some incredible plants there, a wonderful array of colours and such an incredible exhibition. Well, anything involving flowers is sure to win over a woman's heart right?

Bluebird Tea Co | Cherry Lips | Brighton

Brighton Bluebird Tea Co

If I could have any drink for the rest of my life, there's a high chance that I would say tea. This humble drink channels both my British lifestyle and my Chinese heritage and I am always on the search for new teas to add to my tea cupboard. Yes, I have a cupboard that is entirely dedicated to tea. So, when I took a wander down the North Laine and The Lanes of Brighton recently and stumbled upon an independent tea shop that had canisters upon canisters of tea on the wall, you didn't need to ask me twice to step over the Bluebird Tea Co's threshold.

Charlotte Tilbury | Penelope Pink | Lipstick Review

Ahhhh!! I have finally found it!!!

Having visited House of Tilbury a few months ago, I couldn't help myself but pick up something to walk away with. I knew I had picked up a lipstick but I couldn't remember which, and I always thought it was either Hepburn Honey or Bitch Perfect because I was toying with either one in the store. However, I couldn't find out which one I actually ended up buying purely because I blooming went and lost it! But having a rummage through my handbags the other day because I was looking for my camera, I indadvertedly found the lipstick. Turns out it was neither of the two - it was actually Penelope Pink.

Beauty (mostly) Wishlist #1

I'm currently on a self inflicted spending ban because of Lent, so of course everything I want feels like it's more out of reach than normal. So to make the pain a little easier, I've put together a wish list of items I'm currently lusting over - feature Charlotte Tilbury, Canon and NYX Cosmetics.

Brighton | Photo Diary

There's something about Brighton isn't there?

I probably have a fonder attachment than most considering I studied down there, but six years on after graduation - cannot believe it's been that long! - it's always a nice place to go back to throughout the year. So that's what two of my friends and I did and went to Brighton for the day.

LUSH Big Blue Bath Bomb

LUSH Big Blue bath bomb packaging

I rarely have baths favouring showers on many an occasion but when I do decide to have a bath, I instantly become a Chandler and will nearly always find myself plopping a LUSH goodie into the waters. My all time favouites include Avobath and Yuzu and Cocoa but I wanted something that was going to be relaxing and let me forget about everything for a while. LUSH Big Blue is apparently LUSH number 1 bath bomb product - how I had not tried it out before I'm not entirely sure so I made a mental note to make sure my next bath included a serving of this.

No, I'm not named after a major global television company but BBC to the Chinese means "British Born Chinese" - Ronseal kind of term. And to celebrate Chinese New Year 2016, the latest instalment in my blog mini-series is Episode C: Being Chinese.

Jerk Chicken | Turtle Bay | Southampton

Whenever I travel somewhere new, I try to eat what is famous for that local area. Cornish pasties in Cornwall. Macaroons in France. Haggis in Scotland. On my recent getaway to Southampton, I quickly learnt that Soton doesn't really have an iconic food item and with no pier and therefore no seafood, we decided to pop into a fun looking restaurant called Turtle Bay.

Lucas Papaw Ointment | Review

Today I want to share my latest favourite product that has replaced many a chapstick and a lip balm including my favourite Nuxe Reve de Miel and Carmex Cherry. Lucas Papaw Ointment in its signature red packaging is a product not just for chapped lippies but also for burns and whatnot - it's a multiple use product and I'm so glad I picked it up.

Drugstore Haul January 2016

Every time I find myself walking past Boots or Superdrug, I cannot help but wander in. Lured by the bright lights and beauty essentials inside, I find myself walking over its threshold convinced there are multiple products I need stocking up on or testing out. This time I walked into Boots and ASDA for a mini drugstore haul and this is what I picked up.

My Chanel Lipstick Collection

There's something about lipstick. I have always picked up drugstore lipsticks for convenience and budget, but over the recent months, I have branched out a little experimenting with high end lipsticks. Chanel has always been a brand that instantly comes to mind when I think of quality make up and often find myself perusing their counters, so it comes as no surprise that I've built up a little bit of a collection for myself.

House of Tilbury | Charlotte Tilbury Store | Covent Garden

Ask any beauty blogger what beauty brands hit the top of their wishlist and chances are Charlotte Tilbury features quite prominently. I personally only heard about Charlotte Tilbury quite recently, mainly thanks to YouTube videos praising her Pillow Talk lip liner and her lipstick line highly as well as seeing her beauty stand at Selfridges. So when Charlotte Tilbury announced she was opening a standalone store in the heart of London in Covent Garden, I had to of course pop along and check the store out.

Southampton | Photo Diary

A while ago I had booked a weekend away to Southampton to get out of the big smoke that is London, clear my head and refresh myself. Unbeknown to me, I would get struck down by food poisoning a day or so before which meant I was in two minds about actually going. But I carried on, travelled on a two hour coach journey and made it down south enjoying a wintry January weekend in Hants while it snowed up in London.

Episode A: All About Andrew

I've had my blog for coming up to 2 years and time sure does fly. My first post when I decided to start writing on a more regular basis was back in May 2014 after my first holiday overseas to Barcelona, Spain with my other half. Since then, he's featured in more than a couple posts so for today's A episode I'm going to turn the spotlight on the guy who I've referred to as my OH, the boy, and Mr LGD - Andrew.

Coco Chanel Rouge N°432 Cécile

I feel like 2016 will be the Year of the Lipstick for me. It was something I started enjoying towards the end of 2015 purchasing MAC's Twig and Brave, being gifted Velvet Teddy and spontaneously picking up Charlotte Tilbury's Hepburn Honey, and looks like something that is definitely set to continue in 2016. It only seemed right for me to start looking for a new lip product and what better start is there than browsing the Chanel counter?

How To Have a Fresh Start in 2016

We are exactly one week into 2016 and within the last 168 hours, I have lost count of the number of people who have hashtagged the life out of #newyearnewme, signed up for a new gym membership or are genuinely considering actually visiting the gym (guilty as charged) and started dry January all in a bid to make ourselves healthier and have a positive outlook on life. While we don't necessarily need to wait until the 1st January each year to kick start ourselves into action, here are some tips to get you started on the right track to achieving your goals

Riding House Cafe | London

Nestled on the corner of a quiet street in London is the infamous Riding House Cafe. Less than 10 minutes walk away is the busy Oxford Street in central London, which we left behind in the middle of December to eat on a Thursday evening when one of my friends was visiting London for the festive period. I heard a lot about the breakfast, not so much about the dinner but with all the reviews of this place, it sounded like I was in for a treat.
