Kova Patisserie - Soho, London

I'm a foodie. A massive one - and there's not much I don't like. In fact, there's a lot I absolutely love. I do love a good cup of black tea, rose flavoured food, macaroons, unusual pairings and green tea. So when I hear there's a cafe that's opened up in Soho, London offering matcha cakes, I made a beeline to it.

Enter Kova Patisserie.

Kova Patisserie is a tiny little cafe nestled in Soho and seats around 10 people so chances are there's a queue of people standing outside waiting to get in. Thankfully it was a clear day, and funnily enough, the staff and the customers were all Asian, and I just added to the stereotype haha.

The cafe made headlines for their mille crepes - a cake made with layers and layers of crepes (the super French thin pancakes) with a light custard cream in between, in different flavours, with matcha being perhaps the most Instagrammable.

I visited just after Valentine's Day so they had rose latte on the menu which I obviously went for.

I mean, coffee and cake? What a perfect combination.

You place your order (and pay) at the counter upfront, return back to your seat, and your chosen items will be brought to the table. There's a fridge at the counter so you can see what options are available and Kova also offers a takeaway service if you're just passing by.

After I put a picture of my slice up on Instagram, (P.S. My handle is @londongirldiana), my friend commented that there's a matcha cafe in Hong Kong - I must visit this when I go back and cross off more matcha items of my list!
